Not Too Late.

Just a reminder, and maybe an unnecessary one given how incessantly we pushed this initially, but our download-by-donation back catalog of songs will continue to be available until the conclusion of the 17th of this month (Sunday) and we’d love love love for you to check it all out.

A brief overview: Every song we’ve written and released that is presently out of print (two 7″ releases, 1 mini-CD-R, and 2 Holiday songs), as well as 1 new group of 4 songs (released only as digital download) are presently available for download and will be until the end of this coming Sunday, and all we ask is that you consider (just consider, no worries if you’re unable) donating any amount of money in the process to a really great cause.

The cause, from a previous blog (and not so brief):
Come December 24, all of the aforementioned recordings will be posted online for donate-what-you-can download with 100% of the donations going to benefit Well House Community Living of Grand Rapids, a non-profit outreach program in Grand Rapids that provides emergency shelter and permanent housing for displaced and homeless families. Since the 1970’s, Well House and its staff and volunteers have worked to provide homeless people and families with housing while helping them transition into a self-sustaining pattern of life. Presently, Well House is working towards switching to permanent community living as part of the greater effort of the Grand Rapids Area Coalition to End Homelessness, while organizing many important and powerful initiatives focusing on giving residents the tools necessary to be self-sustaining (i.e. microloans to stimulate steady financial stability, seed giveaways for vegetable gardens, etc). Earlier today I met with Tammy VandenBerg, a member of the board of directors, to discuss specific programs and such, and to figure out exactly where the donation money would be going should you decide to give, and I don’t even know where to start. I was excited by this before I talked to her, and I’m twice as excited now. Its amazing the things that people can accomplish with a strong drive and a good heart, and its amazing how many great things are going in the face of crisis.

And the links:

And, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, download the songs without donating, and find some way to provide aid to earthquake victims in Haiti. Oxfam, Red Cross, or Partners In Health (Which I just read about earlier today via Propagandhi’s website) are all trying to help, and I’m certain there are more. Not sure there is a word to describe that situation, or to describe how desperately people there need assistance. Death toll in the hundreds of thousands, I heard. How about that? What a messed up world we live in. Probably more on that later, but maybe not. It’s hard to talk about.

All in this together,
yrs, Jordan.

Tonight’s concert was amazing. I can’t wait for you guys to come back to TC.

  • I’m so glad you guys kept this going. I thought I had missed my chance due to my constant lack of money :). I’ll let friends who are fans know that this is being offered in exchange for a donation to a good cause; I’ll try to persuade those who aren’t to donate as well.

  • p.s. kids won’t usually take the time to get online and donate through credit card or paypal
sorry for the lack of credit
but cell phones seem to be a more probable way of getting teens to donate.

The following organizations are accepting SMS donations in the US only:
SMS text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts
SMS text “YELE” to 501501 to Donate $5 to Yele Haiti’s Earthquake Relief efforts
SMS text “GIVE10” to 20222 to donate $10 to Direct Relief

you can send as many as you want.
